В соответствии с программой Международной космической станции, «Прогресс» должен доставить на МКС более 2500 кг грузов, включая топливо для поддержания ее орбиты, научное и бортовое оборудование, продукты питания, воздух и воду для экипажа, расходные материалы. По уточнённым данным баллистической службы Центра управления полётами ЦНИИ машиностроения старт автоматического грузового корабля «Прогресс М-08М» состоится 27 октября 2010 года в 19 часов 11 минут 50 секунд по московскому времени (15:11:50 GMT). Схема сближения «Прогресса М-08М» с Международной космической станцией будет трёхсуточной. Его стыковка с МКС намечена на 30 октября в 20 часов 40 минут (16:40 GMT).  CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida has set the news conferences, events and operating hours for the news center for the final scheduled launch of space shuttle Discovery. The spacecraft's STS-133 mission to the International Space Station is set to lift off at 4:40 p.m. EDT on Monday, Nov. 1. A NASA blog will update the countdown beginning at 11:15 a.m. Nov. 1. Originating from Kennedy's Launch Control Center, the blog is the definitive Internet source for information leading up to launch. During the mission, visitors to NASA's shuttle website may read about the crew's progress and watch the mission's two spacewalks live. | XICHANG, Sichuan, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- China early Monday morning successfully launched its sixth orbiter which will form part of its indigenous satellite-navigation and -positioning network. A Long March-3C carrier rocket carrying the "Beidou, " or Compass, navigation satellite took off at 0:26 a.m. Monday from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. It will join five other satellites already in orbit to form a network. which will eventually consist of 35 satellites. The network will provide satellite navigation services for Asia-Pacific regions by 2012 and global services by 2020. The China Academy of Space Technology developed the satellite and the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology developed the carrier rocket. Натиснете тук |

Station In Space Scheduled [SatNews] China said Wednesday it plans to complete a manned space station around 2020, as the Asian nation pushes ahead with its ambitious space exploration program. Artistic rendition of a proposed Chinese space station, courtesy of the Chinese Society of Astronautics China's Manned Space Engineering Project announced in a statement that it expected to launch a space laboratory before 2016 to study key technology involved in a space station, such as living conditions for astronauts. The country would then develop and launch a core cabin and a second laboratory module around 2020, which would be assembled in orbit into a space station, it added. The station would study technologies involved in long-term manned space flights, the statement said. China had already announced plans to launch two unmanned modules next year, which are expected to undergo the nation's first space docking — an essential step towards building the space station. These steps are all part of the nation's ambitious space exploration program, which experts say it wants to put on a par with those of the United States and Russia. China sees the program as a symbol of its global stature, growing technical expertise, and the Communist Party's success in turning around the fortunes of the formerly poverty-stricken nation. The nation became only the third in the world to put a man in space independently — after the United States and Russia — when Yang Liwei piloted the one-man Shenzhou-5 space mission in 2003. And in September 2008, the Shenzhou-7, piloted by three astronauts, carried out China's first space walk. China has also made strides in lunar exploration, aiming to become the second country to put a man on the moon. It launched its second lunar probe on October 1, hopes to bring a moon rock sample back to Earth in 2017, and has planned a manned mission to the moon for around 2020, according to state media.  TAIYUAN, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- China launched a new meteorological satellite early Friday morning, from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern China's Shanxi Province. A Long March-4C carrier rocket carried the satellite, the second of China's Fengyun-3 (FY-3) series, into space at 2:37 a.m. (Beijing Time). The satellite entered the sun-synchronous preset orbit 19 minutes later, according to data sent by the Xi'an Satellite Control Center in northwestern Shaanxi Province. After in-orbit testing, the launch center will hand over control of the satellite to the National Satellite Meteorological Center under the China Meteorological Administration. A statement of the launch center said the satellite was equipped with a dozen advanced detectors and was able to carry out a three-dimensional, all-weather, multi-spectrum quantitative detection to acquire data from the ground surface, the ocean and space. The satellite would form a network with the first FY-3 satellite, launched May 27, 2008, to improve China's meteorological observation and medium-range weather forecast capabilities, it said. The FY-3 series would continue to play an important role in monitoring natural disasters and environment, and researching environment and climate change and disaster prevention and reduction. Both the satellite and the rocket were developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology affiliated to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. The launch was the 134th mission of China's Long March series of rockets since April 24, 1970, when a Long March-1 rocket successfully sent China's first satellite Dongfanghong-1 into the space. China will launch a total of 12 satellites of the FY-3 series and six of the FY-4 series by 2020. |
