поредната нагла лъжа за масова консумация Shi‘i Buratha mosque in Baghdad rocked by explosions as efforts to spark sectarian civil war continue. In a dispatch posted at 5:30pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Shi‘i Buratha Mosque in Baghdad was struck by three 82mm mortar shells shortly after noon on Friday. Media reports later said that 79 persons were killed in the midday explosions. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the local puppet police as saying that four mortar rounds blasted into the mosque causing heavy damage to the building and casualties. Later, in a dispatch posted at 6:20pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet police had adopted a new explanation for the explosions that rocked the Shi‘i mosque earlier in the day. According to the new account, the massive explosions had come not from mortar shells, as was first reported, but from three individuals dressed as worshippers who blew themselves up as the faithful poured out of the mosque after Friday services. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that by that time the number of dead and injured had risen to 181, but that the figure was likely to increase still further as searches for victims continued. The Buratha mosque is regarded as a Shi‘i site of some importance in Baghdad. Its Imam, Jalal ad-Din as-Saghir is a member of the US-sponsored Iraqi “parliament” representing the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades. The mosque area contains a well from which the ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, revered by the Shi‘ah as the founder of their denomination, drank when he came to Baghdad in the years immediately following the death of the Prophet Muhammad.
