Exhibitions on four themes are held to display the splendid culture, modern urban life and natural beauty of the province, with interaction between robots and visitors, as well as wonderful folk show and Tang-style performances. The scenes of West Lake and Qiantang River Tide are projected onto the center of the huge bowl alternately. The four sections of High Mountains and Winding Rivers, Like a Heavenly City, Dazzling Stars and Rippling Water show Zhejiang's urbanization mode characterized by overall urban and rural planning. Ningbo Case Pavilion Case Title:Tengtou Village—Urbanization and Ecological Harmany The practice of Tengtou Village in Ningbo, Zhejiang is the only rural UBPA case of the Shanghai Expo. Tengtou is a successful example of urbanized villages in China. It seeks to strike a balance between developing tourism and protecting the eco-environment. The pavilion consists of several featured areas including Sounds of Nature, Close to Nature, Moving Images, Interactive Signature, etc. The concept of Sounds of Nature is inspired by the 24 solar terms of China. The J-20 flew for about 15 minutes over an airfield in the southwest city of Chengdu, reports said. The test flight was made on the second day of a visit to China by U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates. China's President Hu Jintao confirmed the J-20's flight to Secretary Gates in a meeting a Reuters report said, quoting Gates as its source. Recent activity around the development of the J-20 appears to show that China is making faster progress than previously thought in developing a rival to the U.S. F-22 stealth fighter, the reports said. However, rather than being a threat to the U.S. the fact that the Chinese authorities have made no attempt to suppress reports about the J-20 is being seen as an attempt to be more open and transparent over military matters, the reports said. The U.S. is the only nation known to operate a radar-eluding "stealth" fighter. The Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 "Raptor" first flew in September 1990 and is said to have entered service with the USAF in December 2005. The J-20, in development by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, is a single-seat, twin-engine aircraft, bigger and heavier than Russia's Sukhoi T-50 and the F-22, according to Aviation Week which reported high-speed taxi test earlier in the month. The U.S. will maintain its lead, but a narrowing gap could impact U.S. jobs, exports and access to medical technology, it said. China will reach near-parity in medical technology with European nations by 2020 based on a scorecard PwC analysts developed for the report. On a 1 to 9 scale, it gave the U.S. a current score of 7.1 as the global medtech leader, down from 7.4 in 2005. Other developed countries such as France, Germany, Japan and the U.K. had scores of 4.8 to 5.4 with Israel ranked slightly lower. Several had slightly lower scores than their 2005 ranking. Among developing countries China ranked highest at 3.4 due to its strong economic growth--up from 2.9 in 2005--while Brazil and India had scores 2.7 up from 2.3 in 2005. The PwC scorecard uses a matrix of 86 different metrics tracked across ten dimensions. “We created the scorecard because we wanted to better understand how medical technology innovation is changing and which nations have the strongest capacity and capability for innovation, ” said Christopher Wasden, managing director of PwC and a co-author of the report, speaking in a press release. “The balance of [social, technical, political and economic] forces is beginning to change, driven by global economic dynamics, governmental policies and the actions of individual companies and entrepreneurs, " said Michael Swanick, who heads PwC's medical technology group. The shift "creates challenges for those countries and companies that have ridden this wave and offers opportunities to those who find themselves well-positioned to adapt to new modes of innovation, ” he said in a press release. The report cited several factors driving medical innovation offshore of the U.S. They included more expensive, less-predictable FDA regulatory approvals, an increased focus on value and cost-effective solutions in health care and increasingly international investments in R&D. Medical technology innovators already are going first to market in Europe. By 2020, they likely will move into emerging countries before entering the U.S., the report said. Other factors could dampen a shift to emerging countries such as China, the report said. They include a relative lack of intellectual property protection, difficulty of doing business in some emerging countries and weak local supply networks. |

Ltd., located in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area. The company has been created to contain Infineon's sales and marketing, application R&D and central functions and to house an IGBT stack power module manufacturing facility and a technical center for automotive solutions. IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) are power semiconductors used to drive electric motors both in automotive applications and in trains. IGBTs are also used in the efficient conversion of variable frequency electrical output such as from a wind turbine or solar plant to a fixed frequency appropriate for the electricity supply grid. "Global energy demand is constantly increasing, particularly in emerging markets like China, one of the most important and fastest growing strategic markets for Infineon, " said Peter Bauer, CEO of Infineon Technologies AG, in a statement. "This new entity will enable us to raise our output to meet the extremely expanding demand especially for energy efficiency and electromobility solutions in China and brings us closer to our customers in this region." China has plans to invest $700 billion in renewable energy projects between now and 2020. It also plans to expand its high-speed rail network from today's 7, 500 kilometers to 13, 000 kilometers by 2012. , China's railway network will serve more than 90 percent of the population by 2020, with 16, 000 kilometers of track, according to the government's blueprint. From 2020 onwards China expects to be producing one million hybrid and electric cars per year. |

 China State Shipbuilding Corporation Pavilion Натиснете тук Натиснете тук The pavilion is reconstructed from an old factory and adds a new structure to the former plant. To some extent the arc structure resembles the keel of ships, which matches well with the use of the pavilion; while to others it may look like bones of dragons, a symbolize for the insisting spirit of China's national industries. The entire shipbuilding process and future ships are displayed in the pavilion. In the pavilion visitors can preview new modes of human civilization, which emphasize roles of shipping, and also experience life in the future "water world." Ship models including that of Zheng He, a famous Chinese who sailed to Western countries during the Song Dynasty, are displayed in "History Avenue" to showcase the time-honored shipbuilding history of China.    |
