The exhibition includes three sections - "Millennium in Retrospect, "Social and urban development promoted by history and nature" and "City life close to nature." The pavilion will also demonstrate the charm of Romania to visitors from all over the world with traditional dance performances, ethnic costume exhibitions and other activities. Highlight 1: Review of Classic Romanian Films During Expo 2010, visitors will be able to view classic Romanian films which had a lasting impression on its people, such as "Stefan cel Mare" (1974) and "Mihai Viteazul" (1970). Porcelain is also found in the pavilion's interior design. The porcelain surface elegantly alludes to the century-long tradition of "Chinaware" once exported from China to Europe. In a symbolic way, Austria transports this architectural object back to China with its pavilion, giving expression to the friendship between Austria and China. The color combination of red and white not only displays the colors of the Austrian flag, but also integrates the traditional Chinese color "red" for luck and happiness. Composed of five exhibition zones, the Austria Pavilion will take visitors on a pleasant journey through spectacular snow-capped mountains, fragrant forests, green grassland, flowing rivers and urban landscapes. Alongside the entire path leading from the mountain to the city, visitors will come into contact with Austrian culture and economy through animated installations. The pavilion promises an extraordinary "Tour of Austria" for visitors, with its sensory-coupled video and audio presentations. Highlight 1: Interactive Multimedia Austria's world-famous music will be a must at the pavilion. The familiar melody of the "Blue Danube," composed by Johann Strauss, Jr., and other classical music composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be played from time to time at the exhibit. Avant-garde "Music Shows" and musical parties will also be presented. Highlight 2: Home of Music The Austrian visual artist group has equipped the exhibition hall with 64 projectors and over a million slides to present a 3D "Interaction between urban and rural habitats." Visitors start at the first stage, the "mountain area," where they feel a cold sensation and touch "real snow." They then continue down to the Austrian "woods." Acoustic elements like the chirping of "birds" amplify the experience. While strolling through the forest, a curious "squirrel" may sniff at their feet. Such a natural environment has given Iceland rich resources - water power and terrestrial heat. The Iceland Pavilion focuses on the relationship between Icelandic people and nature, introducing how the country has learned to use clean, renewable energy in daily life. Highlight 1: Wall of Block Lava The exterior walls on both sides of the pavilion's main gate is made of block lava to give a three-dimensional appearance to the entrance. Other exterior walls that are covered in printed fabrics showing the landscape of Iceland will come to life with skillful lighting in the evening. Highlight 2: Distinctive Icelandic Music The music of Iceland always impresses us with its purity and profoundness. The Bureau for Icelandic Music Export will introduce Icelandic music to visitors during the Expo. Highlight 1: Unique Design Unique Design Supported by four columns of different profiles, the entire structural system features floors of different shapes and sizes, connected by ramps and stairs suspended from trusses smoothly, to form a tensional balance, which symbolizes a harmonious coexistence of people who live, work and have fun in Singapore. Highlight 2: "Hanging Garden" "Hanging Garden" The unique Singapore experience will culminate in the "Hanging Garden" - a rooftop garden landscaped with mysterious flora and music fountains. Ltd, India National Pavilion Day: August 18 Pavilion Area: Around 4, 000 square meters Натиснете тук Натиснете тук The pavilion has a crimson central dome, symbolizing the theme "Unity in Diversity" in India. A focus throughout the exhibit will be on interaction between rural and urban areas through exchange of goods and services. Revolving around a journey of Indian cities from ancient times through medieval periods to modern India, the pavilion showcases India's rich cultural heritage, its diversity of faith, culture and language, traditional and modern technological development and urban-rural interface. Highlight 1: Tree of Life The entrance to the pavilion is through a vaulted portal with the "Tree of Life" carving inspired by the "Siddi Syed Mosque" at Ahmedabad. The central dome is herb-roofed with the "Tree of Life" in copper. The innovative combination of plants and metals distinguishes the dome. Highlight 2: Zero-chemical Area The seemingly ancient India Pavilion is replete with marvelous modern technologies. The pavilion is designed as a Zero-chemical Area. Energy efficiency is made possible through the use of solar panels, wind mills, herbs and bamboo. The terracotta and stone floor is inspired by the palace at Rampur in Varanasi and is cooled by embedded pipes. Therefore, visitors will be touring around the pavilion in a cool and comfortable temperature even in the summer. Highlight 3: Indian Market The "Indian Market" will be open for curious visitors. In fact, the attic in this market belongs to one of the exhibition areas of the India Pavilion, from which one can get a bird's-eye view of the whole pavilion. The market is also a catering service area. Traditional delicacies from various regions of India can be relished here. Highlight 4: 360-degree Holographic Projection The 360-degree Holographic Projection depicts India's evolvement over its long history, from the ancient times of Mohan Jodaro and Harappa (dating back to 2000-3000 BC) through the medieval period to modern India. The displays around the dome will further elaborate on the theme "Cities of Harmony." Highlight 5: Shopping Arcade & Amphitheater The Shopping Arcade in the pavilion enables visitors to see the artisans from different parts of the country demonstrating their skills. Besides, specialized products from different regions will be available on sale. The Shopping Arcade also displays typical Indian columns in its arcade structure. The Amphitheater will host cultural shows from different regions of India on a regular basis. UBPA - Pondicherry 02-04 Asian City Project is an action by European Union to help Asian countries improve urban environment. This project asks an Asian city and at least two European cities to form groups in order to learn from the advanced European city management concepts. The project has been continued for 2 years, and the European countries and the EU take care of at most 65% of the project’s cost. In 2002, Pondicherry successfully formed group with Italy’s Urbino and France’s Villeneuve – Solo. Pondicherry is exactly divided into two districts, a French colony and a Tamil traditional area. The French colony maintains architecture from the colonial era while the Tamil area has its own local architecture style. The two styles have influenced each other. Pondicherry Pavilion’s design is inspired by the two contrasting and complementary areas. The Tamil district’s style is represented by the tiles on corridor rooftops, while the French colony style is represented by the gates popular in France. Pondicherry’s characteristics is conveyed to the audience through the splice of ceramic tiles on the floor and embodied in light columns. |

Exhibitions focus on displaying how cities with different cultures, races and cultural heritage share common prosperity and harmony. Local trees can be seen in the pavilion as representations of today's Nigeria.
