| Ukraine Pavilion Theme: Building on the Past, Shaping Our Future National Pavilion Day: August 24 Натиснете тук Decorations of red, black and white on the wall of the pavilion may look like eight trigrams but actually are symbols originating from ancient cultures of local tribes. Whirlpools with snake patterns in the middle signify the passing of time and change of climates; dog patterns symbolize driving away evil forces; the sun is a symbol for endless power. Exhibitions in the pavilion follow the theme of "From Ancient to Modern City" and display the development of Ukraine from its agricultural time to the modern culture and architectures of the future. Highlight1: Carpathian National Park Carpathian National Park Carpathian National Park is the biggest forest park in Europe and one of the seven natural wonders in Ukraine. The park is an evidence of endeavors Ukraine have made to improve its urban ecological environment. Highlight 2: Experience Ukraine Traditions Experience Ukraine traditions Visitors can enjoy folk performances and traditional craftsmanship of pottery making, embroidery, paintings and wood engraving. They can even get the chance to make Easter eggs or jars by themselves.  |
 Ху (Су) Гуанг-чи (Xu Guangqi) 1562г.- 1633г. Роден в Шанхай, един от най-влиятелните висши чиновници в историята на Китай, приел христианско вероизповедание. Администратор по времето на династия Мин (1368-1644). Католическо име след покръстването – Пол Су.   Ху се занимава с изследвания в земеделието. Прави различни опити по иригация и намаляване на щетите при наводнения, Отглежда и популяризира американските сладки картофи на територията на Китай, огранизира експериментални полета с памук в северен Китай като се стреми да подтикне развитието на текстилните занаяти в тези региони. Той съставя трактат по селско стопанство - Nung-cheng chuan-shu (Complete Treatise on Agriculture) и трактат по хидравлика -Taixi shuifa (a treatise on hydraulics)   Ху строи католическа църква в Шанхай в района Xujiahui 徐 家 匯 и подарява част от земите си на иезуитската мисия, върху които се издигат манастир, училище, библиотека и обсерватория. През 1847 там е изградена и катедралата Св. Игнатиус.     |
Гробът му се намира в Guangqi-парк, недалеч от катедралата. Guangqi-парк е създаден в негова чест в Шанхай при комунистическото управление.    Ху достига «джинши» степен (най-високия чиновнически пост) през 1604г. Той има приятелски отношения с Матео Риччи - италиански йезуит, ръководител на католическата мисия в Китай. Двамата превеждат книги по математика, евклидова геометрия, география, хидравлика, теология и военна наука от латински на китайски. Почитател е на европейската култура. Ху Гуанг-чи и Матео Риччи – склуптура в Guangqi-парк  Guangqi-парк   Ху прави многогодишни наблюдения и изследвания по астрономия. През 1630 той е назначен за председател на Бюрото по церемониите и бюрото но календара . Ръководи реформата на лунния календар в империята, който става официален през средата на 17 век. Склуптура на Ху Гуанг-чи – реформатор на китайския лунен календар.   Бадеми в Guangqi-парк   Поради все по-голямото влияние на западноевропейската религия в Китай и опитите на европейски йезуитски свещеници да се намесват в политическите интереси и държавната власт през 1706г. от императора е наложена забрана на католицизма, продължила до 1805г. и останала в китайската история като столетната забрана на католицизма. Натиснете тук    = = = Шанхайски музей. Създаден през 1952г. Новото здание на музея е построено през 1993г. – 1996г. от шанхайски архитекти под формата на стари китайски овални съдове - “ding 鼎 “. Площ - 39 200 кв. м.    Шанхайският музей показва античното китайско изкуство. It also showcases Belarussian cities' efforts in creating livable space, incorporating different cultures, boosting economic growth and social welfare, developing scientific innovation and improving residents' lives. Highlight 1: Cultural and Historical Heritage The cultural and historical relics of Minsk, the capital of Belarus, are exhibited, which is reminiscent of the city's efforts in rebuilding itself in the wake of World Expo II. The exhibits represent Minsk people's cherishment for peace. Highlight 2: Wildlife, Eco-tourism The country's varied species of wildlife and plants are featured to share its experience in coordinating the urban and rural development. Its development of ecological tourism will also be displayed.   |
| Slovakia Pavilion Theme: The World of Humanity National Pavilion Day: September 4 Натиснете тук The pavilion showcases transformation of human beings in a perspective of squares. Entering the pavilion visitors can see spiral stairs which symbolize winding roads of the cities gathering together in the square. Walls with important historical moments of Slovakia enclose the square, which lead visitors back to the old times. Movies about daily urban lives are also played as witnesses of the everlasting change, motion and development of cities. Highlight 1: Arch wall for projection The arch wall symbolizes the transition from the past to present and future. It also works as a projection screen on which videos about lives of urban and rural areas are broadcast. Highlight 2: Experience Slovakia Visitors can further their understanding of Slovakia's history through furniture, artifacts and clothes. Highlight 3: Slovakian artists Famous Slovakian artists will stage music and dancing of different styles.  |
| Nepal Pavilion Theme: Tales of Kathmandu City - Seeking the Soul of a City; Exploration and Speculation Highlights: Soul of the Foreign Land National Pavilion Day: September 3 Pavilion Area: Around 3600 Square Meters Натиснете тук  The Nepal Pavilion is an exquisite work of art with a large Buddhist pagoda as the centerpiece, surrounded by several folk houses representing styles from different periods. It showcases Nepalese artisans' outstanding talents in art and architecture. The pavilion recaptures important historic periods in its greater than 2, 000-year development as a center for architecture, art and culture. It also depicts the current urban expansion in Kathmandu, shedding light on the opportunities and challenges in environment protection and development of renewable energies. Highlight 1: Nepal Arniko Center The pavilion is named "Nepal Arniko Center" to commemorate the outstanding artisan Arniko, who contributed greatly to the friendship between Nepal and China in ancient times. The pavilion reproduces architectural designs since the 11th century, reflecting the process of urbanization in Nepal.   Highlight 2: 350 families of craftsmen Incorporating Nepalese artistic tradition and innovative decoration ideas into its construction and exhibition, the pavilion uses about 500 tons of materials including wood, metal, bricks, porcelain and stone for exhibition and decoration items, all of which are handmade. Wood and clay sculptures will feature exquisite patterns, which have taken about two years for 350 Nepalese families to complete. Some skilled craftsmen came to the building site in Shanghai to add finishing touches to the pavilion.    |

 Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov (R) meets with Wang Yang, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Guangdong provincial committee, in Sofia, capital of Bulgaria, Sept. 14, 2010. (Xinhua) -- Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov said Tuesday that his country will expand cooperation with China in economics, trade and investment, and would continuously upgrade the level of bilateral relations. Parvanov made the comments during a meeting with Wang Yang, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China ( CPC)'s Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Guangdong provincial committee. The Bulgarian president highly appreciated China's reform and opening-up policy, as well as the achievements of development. All Bulgarian political forces are in favor of developing relations with China, viewing it as an important partner on the world stage, said Parvanov, adding that Bulgaria is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with China. Parvanov reiterated that Bulgaria firmly pursues the one-China policy. There is profound traditional friendship between China and Bulgaria, as well as people of the two countries, Wang noted. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 60 years ago, China and Bulgaria have maintained friendly relations and cooperation, although there were huge changes of international situation and domestic situation, said Wang, underlining that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Bulgaria, regarding it as a sincere friend and reliable partner. Wang said the external relations of the CPC was a crucial component of China's overall foreign relations, and the CPC wanted to step up party-to-party exchange with Bulgaria, making contributions to the continuous development of Sino-Bulgarian traditional friendship. Featuring a series of curves, the modern, stylish booth in shades of grey, white and red with hints of black is laid out in the form of a pan, Trinidad's national instrument, basically a large open central area with smaller semi-enclosed spaces radiating outward. The six main “pillars” or partitions contain information on Trinidad and Tobago's growing urban centres. There are three circular illuminated cut-outs in the floor with graphic imagery and photos depicting Innovative People, Investment Opportunities, Island Paradise. The most striking features of the exhibition space are five sweeping curved walls or “pillars”, which contain information on the major urban centers of the nation – Port of Spain, Arima/Sangre Grande, Chaguanas, Scarborough and San Fernando - and these speak to the overall Expo 2010 theme ‘Better City, Better Life’. |
 NEW YORK, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Thursday met with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borissov here on the sidelines of a series of United Nations meetings. During the meeting, Wen said China and Bulgaria have traditional friendship, and that bilateral ties have weathered various tests and are now faced with new opportunities for development. Both sides should further expand contacts and communication at all levels, enhance mutual trust and consolidate the political basis of bilateral ties, Wen said. China is ready to work with Bulgaria to promote a balanced and stable growth of bilateral trade, expand cross investment, and strengthen exchanges and communication in various fields including culture, education and tourism, Wen said. For his part, Borissov said Sino-Bulgarian ties are a good model of friendly relations between countries of different social systems. Bulgaria would like to deepen bilateral substantial cooperation with China in the fields of trade, finance, environment protection, tourism and infrastructure construction, and lift bilateral ties to a new height, Borissov said. Bulgaria will continue to do its part to promote the development of Sino-European ties. |

 Russia Pavilion Theme: New Russia: City and Citizen National Pavilion Day: 09-28 Pavilion Area: Around 6, 000 square meters Натиснете тук Натиснете тук Натиснете тук Натиснете тук Натиснете тук Натиснете тук Nikolay Nosov, a famous Soviet writer of children's literature, once said that the best city in the world should be the favorite one among children. His flower city, a place in the "Adventures of DUNNO and His Friends, " has attracted a great number of people. Following the conception of Nosov, the Russia Pavilion has been designed as an ideal city resembling cites in the fairyland, which will give people the impression of a children's paradise. It features 12 irregularly shaped towers in white, red and gold. A 15-meter-tall central building dubbed the "Civilization Cube" links the towers. Taking cues from Nosov's "Adventures of DUNNO and His Friends, " the main exhibition area of the Russia Pavilion consists of three parts: the City for Children, the City for Youth and the Big World, carrying themes of "the City of Flowers, " "the City of Sun" and "the City of Moon" respectively. Before starting their journey, visitors are advised to envision themselves as DUNNO and his friends when travelling this fairy-tale palace. Highlight 1: Unique Design Unique Design With their irregular shapes, these 20-meter towers are located among the natural landscapes of a green lawn and water. Taking a close look, visitors will find that these towers form a circle that takes after the formation of a famous Russian dance. The roofs of the towers are decorated with hollow pictures in colors widely used for traditional Russian garments, symbolizing the integration of various ethnic groups in the country. Highlight 2: Fairy-tale World The City of Flowers features fairy-tale style images of children, showing a flair for colors and fantasies. The City of Sun is a miniature artificial space where the sun shines permanently, shedding light onto every window of the hall to create a translucent labyrinth with virtual displays. Here visitors can find displays of technological inventions by Russian youth. The City of Moon focuses on space exploration. It shows the history of human exploration into the space and glories of Russia's aerospace explorations. Highlight 3: Giant Flowers and Trees Giant strawberries, flowers and trees will feature in the pavilion to show a comfortable city as seen through children's eyes. Visitors will travel along the path as if in a fairy tale. Along the way, they will meet giant foods and plants. The path will move through sections highlighting progress in different areas of Russia's development.   |
| Tunisia Pavilion Theme: Enthusiastic City, Connected City National Pavilion Day: September 19 Натиснете тук  The pavilion adopts traditional architectural elements of tall arches, European castles and traditional flower patterns. Flanks of the pavilion make use of grating plates to showcase Tunisia in both traditional and modern perspectives. The interior is divided into three main parts of "City with Beautiful Sceneries, " "City with Rich Culture" and "City with Time-honored Civilization." Highlight 1: Tunisia features Inside the pavilion visitors can enjoy themselves in gardens and courtyards based on traditional buildings of Tunisia such as the famous Sidi Bousaid. Sweet Tunisian music and its unique aromas are also accessible. Highlight 2: Coffee zone Visitors can make Tunisian coffee by themselves, or even just immerse themselves in the smell of the coffee provided at the coffee zone. Highlight 3: Antique theaters Appearance of a round theatre and its chairs inside all take the shape from the famous Roman ruins. Movies on show present the breath-taking Tunisian landscape, its multiculture and time-honored civilization.   |
| Ireland Pavilion Theme: Relationship between Urban and Rural, Man-made and Natural Highlights: Five Rectangles National Pavilion Day: June 17 Pavilion Area: Around 2, 500 Square Meters Натиснете тук Натиснете тук  The architecture of the translucent lantern-like Ireland Pavilion at Expo 2010 is intended to symbolize the relationship between urban and rural, manmade and natural. The exhibition inside sets the creativity of the Irish, their ancient history, vibrant modern culture, educational traditions and technical innovation into the context of a small, but surprisingly varied and beautiful, island. Visitors will be surprised to discover a cultural continuity that goes back to the Stone Age, whilst enjoying a whole range of contemporary audiovisuals, exhibits, displays, readings, music and performances. The exhibition in the Pavilion attempts to mix the various key elements into a coherent entity: landscape, history, settlement pattern, urbanization, population, economy, music and culture. These elements all will be woven together in the climactic 'Celtic Dreams' immersive audiovisual space and help the audience to well experience the "Ireland Dream." Highlight 1: Five Enclosed Galleries The Ireland Pavilion has five enclosed galleries which are linked by slight inclines. It combines the art, music exhibiting graceful and mysterious elements. There is a quasi-circle large screen, introducing the Irish people and their changing cityscape to visitors. Highlight 2: A Courtyard Plaza The Courtyard Plaza is used to host events highlighting the cultural heritage of Ireland. Highlight 3: Special Designs and Landmarks 'The Ireland Pavilion highlight and enable visitors to understand the rich Irish achievements in arts and literature through the development of architecture and building through the ages. Visitors will also get a feel Liffey River and walk down a re-creation of O'Connell Street, another landmark of the Irish capital  |
| Malaysia Pavilion Theme: One Malaysia, City Harmonious Living Highlights: Traditional Malaysian Hut National Pavilion Day: September 12 Pavilion Area: Around 3, 000 Square Meters Натиснете тук  The inspiration of the pavilion design comes from the traditional Malaysian hut in the expression of a unique style and national spirit of union. The building will comprise two streamlined high slopes with a cross on top, the symbol of Malaysian architecture. The facade of the pavilion will be made from a combination of recyclable materials of palm oil and plastic. Visitors will encounter world heritages of Penang and Malacca and get access to characteristic Malaysian artworks and their production process. Electronics, rubber and timber products will also be exhibited in the pavilion.  Highlight 1: Traditional House Traditional House The corridor and entrance at the ground floor will be based on Mosque design with elevated roof on columns to resemble the traditional long house in Malaysia. The exterior wall will imitate Malaysian textile printing with patterns of butterfly, bloom, flying birds and geometrical drawings.  Highlight 2: Mini-putt and Petronas Twin Towers Mini-putt and Petronas Twin Towers Along with palm oil, rubber and other economical plants, the pavilion will also exhibit tourist attractions of beach and golf court, as well as ordinary family lives in Malaysia. Visitors will be able to pitch and putt at an indoor golf area. The sightseeing elevator between two stories will be designed to simulate the famous Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur.   Highlight 3: Central Stage Central Stage During the Expo, the central stage in the pavilion will host two local dance performances every day to showcase all 47 ethnic groups from the country.   Highlight 4: Lucky Draws Lucky Draws The pavilion will hold lucky draws on key days during the Expo, such as Malaysia’s national day, and the anniversary of China-Malaysia Diplomatic Relationship. Highlight 5: Artworks and Foods Artworks and Foods Visitors will see characteristic Malaysian artworks and their production process in the pavilion and will have the chance to taste delicious Malaysian foods such as bak kut teh.  |

През 1959г. е преименуван в Шанхайска концертна зала. Тъй като през 2003 по урбанистичен план е определено строителство на двуетажна магистрала Yan'an Rd – зданието к трябвало да бъде съборено. Шанхайци главуват против разрушаването и властите предприемат голямо инженерно предизвикателство – изместване на цялата конструкция на 66 метра от първоначалното и местоположение. Под ръководството на специалисти от тунцзинския университет фундаментът е откопан, зданието повдигнато и предвижено с помощта на 60 хидравлични циилиндъра, синхронизирани с компютърна програма. Операцията е струвала около 70 млн. юани.   |
